January 23 Evie
is well and is just being her usual happy self. Her belly is
getting wider. In the next day or two, she'll be getting a haircut
in preparation for the puppies. All that lovely long feathering
will be shortened before the puppies get here.
31. Evie presented us with eight new puppies during
the wee morning hours of January 30. Due to the fact that I
went without sleep all of Sunday, and even last night, Monday, I
only cat-napped, please forgive me if I don't get in touch
with you personally or reply to e-mails for a day or two. Evie is
busy figuring things out. Her last litter had five puppies.
This time, she has eight to keep track off. She is trying, and she
is learning, but mostly, when she gets up, she sits in the
corner and calls for me to arrange the puppies for her. She will
get the hang of it, but for now, I am on-call 100% and I
am pretty tired.
Mom and babies are doing well. I left the room for a moment, and
came back to find Evie surveying her brood
from the comfort of the couch I had been sleeping on, head on my
pillow and looking quite comfy. Five minutes later,
she was back with the babies and had them successfully all
arranged. Maybe now I can sneak in some time for myself.
I still haven't contacted anyone as yet.
Please give me another day. I am doing this website on an offline
computer which is located where the puppies are. The
online computer is in a different part of the house. I just make a
quick trip to the online computer and upload the updates
to the website, and then head back to where the puppies are.
